Calico is inviting local residents to participate in 15 fun family events being held in local communities throughout the summer.
The “Neighbourhood Parties”, are open to all the family, and will involve a number of exciting activities, including face painting, free prize bingo, free refreshments and much more.
One highlight will be a special competition, where one lucky child could win the chance to be a Burnley FC Mascot for the day, as well as a whole host of other amazing Burnley goodies, including a home kit and four match tickets.
The events are a perfect opportunity for residents to meet other members of their community and give their views on their local neighbourhood to Calico, Lancashire Police and Burnley Borough Council.
Attendees will also be rewarded with a free ice cream upon completion of a community survey.
In addition, money and benefits advice will be available and Help Direct will be on-hand to give guidance for any vulnerable adults.
Speaking ahead of the first event, Burnley resident David Hirst said:
“I’m really looking forward to the parties. I would like to see them bring together local people with Calico, and other agencies, to show that their opinions are valuable, and will be listened to - and there is a real sense of community here.”
The parties will start on the 26th July and run until and mid August, and free transport will be provided if required.
